Lots of your favorite TV actors, including Lost and Alcatraz alumni Jorge Garcia, are embarking on a slightly crazy new project: Cooties, about a “zombie-like epidemic originating from an infected chicken nugget that turns elementary school students into rampaging savages.” Sounds like your normal low-budget Netflix knock-off..except this is written by Leigh Wannell, who wrote Insidious and Saw, along with Ian Brennan, who co-created Glee, and stars a pretty impressive list of actors, including Elijah Wood–yes, Frodo himself–along with Rainn Wilson of The Office, Jack McBrayer of 30 Rock and now Garcia. And its producers include Wood, Steven Schneider, who produced Paranormal Activity, and young Vader himself Hayden Christensen. Creating a successful horror-comedy is risky work, but if anybody can pull it off, this might be the team.
