NUVOtv Continues to Spread its Wings: More Mario Lopez on the Way

NUVOtv and Mario Lopez have entered into a big development deal with the host and television personality, encompassing a second season of Mario Lopez One-on-One and a new series on Salsa (the musical kind, not the food).

It’s a positive and not unexpected move up for Mario. Besides a second season of his interview show and Salsa in the City (that’s the working title), he’s also slated to develop three more new series projects for NUVOtv.

Salsa in the City is described as “an irreverent competition show that combines dating and dance within the wildly popular salsa dance scene.” That should arrive in the spring or summer of 2014, and interest is high: the show has already attracted Virgin Mobile as a sponsor, while Season Two of his interview show has already lined up AT&T, Ford, Toyota and GEICO, with more to come.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to expand my relationship with NUVOtv through this development deal,” Lopez said. “My creative goals are totally aligned with NUVOtv’s commitment to deliver culturally relevant programming for the English-speaking Latino audience.”
