The Cleveland Show, from the same folks who bring you Family Guy and American Dad, has an episode coming up on Sunday starring Rosie Perez, and emphasizing the, ah, interesting approach to Latino relations summed up in the title: “There Goes El Neighborhood.”

Meanwhile, Rosie herself as been all over the place. An Oscar and Emmy award nominee (actress for one, choreographer for the other), she’s made her mark in both comedic and dramatic roles, from Fearless to Riding in Cars with Boys to Do the Right Thing to White Men Can’t Jump. Her performance in Lackawanna Blues (with Jimmy Smits and Ruben Santiago-Hudson) earned her an NAACP Image Award nomination back in 2006. And she’s been on Broadway, too, in Terrence McNalley’s Frankie & Johnnie in the Claire de Lune, Reckless, and The Ritz.
Not that she’s stopped there. Rosie’s directed documentaries on Puerto Rican pride that was the most-attended film at Tribeca in ’06, and she’s acted as a producer for programs as varied as The 24-Hour Woman, HBO’s Rosie Perez Presents Society’s Ride, and Subway Stories.
And late last year, she was part of off-Broadway play called Close Up Space, with Frasier’s David Hyde Pierce. You can learn about the show and catch a glimpse of here as well. Advocate, activist, actress, producers…and now (inevitably, given her unique vocal stylings) the voice of Choni on Cleveland. Any hills left to climb, Rosie? (We suspect the answer is ‘yes.’)
