The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) opened their first expo event in Pasadena, California, and SeFija! was there for this two-day celebration of Latino Hollywood insiders and fan appreciation.
Friday was all about panels and Q&A sessions—Excellence in Media: 10th Annual Local Impact Awards Luncheon (featuring a conversation with Haim Saban, chairman and CEO of Saban Capital Group), Latinos in Social & Digital Media, Empowering Latinas in Entertainment, Creating Hollywood Access and The A to Z of the Hollywood Guilds. And that’s just a few of the day’s events.
The evening ended with a screening of End of Watch, introduced on screen by Jake Gyllenhaal, who could not attend in person. The Q&A session after the screening included Michael Peña, Natalie Martinez, Maurice Compte and director David Ayer, who gave us fun facts of how the film was made. End of Watch opens September 28.
Saturday was all about the fans, who got to meet, take pictures and get autographs from some of their favorite radio personalities. Including Latino 96.3 Roq-C, Power 106 Big Boy and the legendary Art Laboe. And sprinkled through the hall were actors, singers, boxers, wrestlers and many more.
The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) inaugural MediaCon turned out to be a fun little event with a potential for growth.
