This fall, Se Fija! Publisher Angela Ortíz had a talk with Dr. Andrea Hodge, the Colombia-born aerospace and mechanical engineer from USC.
Dr. Hodge was a judge for a special competition for 3rd to 12th-grade students to build the most amazing space machine they could image: a launch mechanism, an orbit transfer mechanism, and a gravity well that simulate the orbit.
The prize: tickets to the premiere of Gravity Alfonso Cuarón’s incredible near-space thriller. The reward: the accomplishment of doing something that’s never been done before.
