What do TV stars do in their off season? Apparently make funny movies about stuff you can only hint at on network TV.
The To Do List is a bawdy comedy that is also Latina sensation Aubrey Plaza’s first no-doubt-about-it starring role. She plays a bookish high school girl who goes off to college and develops a singular goal: to lose her virginity. It’s an odyssey–just like the trailer says–“from Straight A’s to Her First F,” and along the way she’s going to encounter more TV stars than you can count, from Saturday Night Live’s Bill Hader and Nasville’s Connie Britton to Hart of Dixie’s Rachel Bilson and Community’s Donald Glover, not to mention Agent Colson himself, Clark Gregg of the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. superhero series. Maggie Carey of Funny or Die is behind all this, as writer and first-time director, and the trailer makes it all look pretty darn funny and just a little painful. After all, there’s nothing that a girl on the make wants not to hear from her intended sex-target as much as, “Maybe you better put your top back on.”
