It’s good to see that Laz Alonzo found something to do with his time off from NBC’s Deception…and that dancer/athlete Ivan “Flipz” Velez has found something new since that odd League of Extraordinary Dancers (LXD) that was on the ’net a while back. It’s a predictably odd little move–based on an actual world championship, held yearly in France called Battle of the Year, about an international dance crew tournament.
Americans haven’t won the competition in years, but Alonzo, as a hip hop mogul, plans to change all that. He even gets a down-on-his-luck basketball coach (Josh Holloway of Lost) to lead his newly recruited Dream Team, which includes Velez and a little-known hip hop artist named Chris Brown. “They’ll have to use every tactic he knows to get twelve talented individual to come together as a team,” the publicity says…and hey, if anybody can do it, it’s Huck and Sawyer.
The film opens nationwide on Friday September 20, in 3D no less. Here’s the trailer:
