Cable Comes Back: “The Closer” and “Rizzoli & Isles” is only the beginning

Most of the network shows are preparing to close their doors on original programming until at least January (and some even longer), but the original cable shows, from USA Network to TBS to TNT and beyond, are gearing up from everything from Christmas specials to multi-weeks of new programming beginning–well, now.

“…when Kyra finishes her swan song, the show will continue well into 2012 with a new name…”

Monday night, The Closer returns for its last round of new shows on TNT. Kyra Sedgwick and the entire crew are on hand, including the amazing Raymond Cruz. And when Kyra finishes her swan song, the show will continue well into 2012 with a new name…and with Cruz still on board. Catch the beginning of the end beginning 9/8C on TNT, or catch it again at 11P that night, the following Saturday, December 3 at 11 in the morning, or a week from Monday, on 12/5, at 8P…just before the next new episode.

An hour later, at 10/9c, Rizzoli & Isles returns with a clutch of new episodes as well…and a guest performance by Roselyn Sanchez. We haven’t seen nearly enough of Sanchez since her stint on Without a Trace, so it’s nice to see her back as a tough-chick D.A., if only for an episode. And, as usual, there will be a rebroadcast at 12A, then again on Tuesday night at 11P, and then again Saturday, Dec 3, at 11A.

Not that Roselyn has been entirely idle. She’s completed a movie called Venus & Vegas that’s scheduled for release any time now–a caper-comedy, it seems, written and directed by Eddie Guerra. Here’s a clip we found of it–a glimpse into what she’s been up to here.

Oh, and there’s one other reason we haven’t seen a heck of a lot of Roselyn recently: she’s going to have a baby!
