At a Screening of Dog Man the Movie

It was an enjoyable screening with two of the grandsons. The five year old said it was happy and sad at the same time. And he loved it! The twelve year old who has read most of the books, thought it was GREAT!

Things get complicated, though, when Lil Petey (Lucas Hopkins Calderon) forges an unexpected bond with Dog Man.

The rest of the cast includes Isla Fisher, Poppy Liu, Stephen Root, Billy Boyd, and Ricky Gervais. Dog Man is directed by Peter Hastings (The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness).

The film is based on the Dog Man book series by Dav Pilkey. The author and award-winning illustrator of the Captain Underpants books.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 The Speed to the BoxOffice

Sonic 3 will beat out Mufasa, for sure!”
— JimmityCritic (12)

Sonic the Hedgehog 3, what a fun evening with the grandkids it was. When you have a 12, 10 and 5 year-old clap their hands at the end of a film, I think you have a hit.

Sonic 3 has fun with the audience and even within the filmmakers with their own story plot. All in all, it has something for everyone.

Synopsis: Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the big screen this holiday season in his most thrilling adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.

Director Jeff Fowler returns along with the all-star cast of Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub, and newcomers Alyla Browne and Krysten Ritter, with Keanu Reeves joining the franchise as Shadow the Hedgehog.

I’m Still Here the Official Brazilian Submission to the Oscars

We really enjoyed this film. It’s a tough story with a lot of heart. And it has a great cast.

Holiday Films Are in the Works!

One of my favorite time of the year is the holiday season. I love Christmas for many reasons, especially my grandkids and grandnephews. We always find time to watch our old and new favorite Christmas movies. And they are many of all genres.

Angela Ortiz and Rosa Rodriguez

Now it’s that time of year, we screened The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The film has some funny moments and of course it tugged at your heart.

Afterward, we did some arts and crafts. That was really fun. The film is in theaters, Friday, November 8.

Synopsis: The Herdmans are six siblings who have a reputation for being the worst kids in the world. However, when they take over the local church pageant during the holidays, they just might teach a shocked community the true meaning of Christmas.

Starring Judy Greer, Pete Holmes, Molly Belle Wright, Lauren Graham, Vanessa Benavente, and directed by Dallas Jenkins.

Despicable Me 4 with One of My Little Minions

We enjoyed it!

It Was A Twisters Night

My #1 grandson and I screened the new #TwistersMovie last night. And it was a long overdue date, too.

The film was much better than we expected. It had its excitements that kept you on your heels. It should do fine in the theaters.

Synopsis: Haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado, Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) gets lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Anthony Ramos), to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. She soon crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), a charming but reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures. As storm season intensifies, Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves in a fight for their lives as multiple systems converge over central Oklahoma. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung.

Experience the Day the World Went Quiet

My niece joined me for the screening of A Quiet Place: Day One. The film has enough scary jumps for me. At time’s it is funny. The cat has more than nine lives…

Angela Ortiz and Lina Fubar

We thought Lupita Nyong’o is really good as Samira. Joseph Quinn is delightful as Eric.

The subtlety of the lighting of the actors in the film was really good. I thought it was great cinematography.

My only thing is that I didn’t learn anything about the creatures. I’m probably going to have to rewatch A Quiet Place 2 again. In theaters now.

We loved Inside Out 2!

We really enjoyed the new Inside Out 2. Milo watched the whole thing and never asked when it was ending. We stayed till the end of the credits and got a little reward.

Synopsis: Teenager Riley’s mind headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Directed by Kelsey Mann.

In theaters NOW!

Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story Premiere

Jann Mardenborough and Jimmy

Experiencing Gran Turismo with my number one grandson, Jimmy. Who was familiar with the game. There was a driving simulator he got to try, which he enjoyed very much. And very jazz, to be watching the film.

He gave the film, a 10 out of 10. But the highlight of the evening was, meeting the man himself, Jann Mardenborough. Check out some of our photos from the evening below.

Synopsis: Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race-car driver. From gamer to professional racer.
