Though Latinos haven’t been entirely absent from the post-zombie-apocalypse world of TV’s The Walking Dead, they haven’t been nearly as much in evidence on the tube as in the paper version of the story. That will change in the near future, as Christian Serratos of Twilight franchise and Secret Life of the American Teenager joins the hardy band of survivors, playing a very popular (and long-awaited) character from the comic series, Rosita Espinosa.
Rosita was introduced in #53 of the comics, which is well into the early #100’s now, and her television appearance is early in the second half of Season 4, with an option–according to Deadline.com–to become a regular in Season 5. That must mean she isn’t slated to die too quickly. We hope. (With The Walking Dead, you can never tell. Just ask Andrea.)
Walking Dead will be presented in two ‘blocks’ this year. Christian will appear around Episode 10, after the mid-season break–so early 2014. If you just can’t wait until then to get a glimpse of her, she’s appearing in two feature films slated for 2013 release: Pop Star and the horror-action flick 7500. Release dates aren’t available yet, but we’ll keep an eye out.
