Coco, Disney•Pixar, Renee Victor, Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Jaime Camil, Alfonso Arau, Herbert Siguenza, Gabriel Iglesias, Lombardo Boyar, Ana Ofelia Murguía, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Selene Luna, Edward James Olmos, Sofía Espinosa, Carla Medina, Dyana Ortelli, Luis Valdez, Blanca Araceli, Salvador Reyes, Cheech Marin, Octavio Solis, John Ratzenberger, Lee Unkrich, Adrian Molina, animationUPDATE: Coco surpassed Justice League for a Thanksgiving weekend box-office take domestically as of November 26 of $72,908,930. And smashed box office records in Mexico.

Coco has inspired me to start an altar at home for día de los muertos. It has all the right sentiments and many I share. It is funny, sad, and beautiful to watch. As usual, Disney•Pixar has done it again, a beautiful film that explains a beautiful Mexican/Latino family tradition and you don’t have to be Latino to understand it.

Coco Cast

We have some videos and audio from the Coco press conference and an interview we did months ago with Renee Victor who does the voice of abuela. You can check them out below.

The story: In Disney•Pixar’s Coco, aspiring musician Miguel (voice of Anthony Gonzalez) teams up with charming trickster Héctor (voice of Gael García Bernal) on an extraordinary journey through the Land of the Dead.

A few of my favorite shots at the Coco press conference with Anthony Gonzalez, Gael Garcia Bernal and Benjamin Bratt

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Héctor (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

On a personal note, it was wonderful to see how many friends and acquaintances were credited on this new holiday classic. Please support this film you won’t be disappointed.
