Pantelion’s newest U.S. release is Compadres, an action-adventure, comedy and buddy film. The film has its highs and lows and fans of Omar Chaparro, will be surprised to see him in a different role than his usual high jinx.
We had the opportunity to speak to a few of the actors about working on the film and they had a lot to say, when we could actually listen. The interview with Chaparro and Joey Morgan was quite a ruckus but we got a few things on audio for you to listen to.
Aislinn Derbez and Camila Sodi told us, though they weren’t in the film a lot, their parts were crucial to the story, and then laughter ensued. And they are ready for the sequel, Comadres, so, please #Comadres. They shot in Ensenada and between takes; there were lots of laughter.
The film’s synopsis: After being released from prison, former Mexican cop Garza (Chaparro) seeks revenge on Santos (Erick Elías). Santos has kidnapped his girlfriend Maria (Derbez) and framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. With the help of his former boss Coronado (José Sefami), Garza manages to escape with a tip about how to find Santos, which leads him to San Diego in search of an “accountant.” When Garza arrives, he is shocked to find that the infamous accountant is a 17-year-old American computer hacker named Vic (Morgan).
The other stars of the film include: Eric Roberts, Kevin Pollak, Héctor Jiménez and is directed by Enrique Begne, who also directed Busco novio para mi mujer, which was released earlier this year.
