When last we saw Diego Boneta, he was starring as the naïve young heart-throb opposite Tom Cruise and a bunch of singers and dancers in Rock of Ages; before that he was breaking hearts on 90210 and Pretty Little Liars. Now he’s surfaced as one of the five-star ensemble in a brand new MTV series, Underemployed, premiering Tuesday, October 16 at 10/9C. It’s a fairly grown-up look at a group of college students who graduate with high hopes and find themselves facing the harsh reality of work and romance in the twenty-first century.
Diego’s a pretty charming young man, not only in the series but in interviews. Here’s a five-minute sit-down with him and his co-star Sarah Habel (Whip It, Hostel) from Hollywire.
