It seems like everybody’s creating a web series these days. With relatively cheap equipment and virtually endless bandwidth available to most people, there are announcements or premieres almost every week. But finding a really good one–intelligent or affecting or funny or–best yet–all of the above is no easy task.
East WillyB, created by Julia Ahumada Grob and Yamin Segal, is one of those rare few. The series chronicles the adventures of Willie Jr., owner of the Bushwick Sports Bar, and his “motley crew of bar regulars, as they deal with the trials and tribulations of living in an ever changing Brooklyn.”
The East WillyB website does a terrific job of describing the series:

It is a story about the many faces that make up the Latino community of Brooklyn, and the ways in which their lives interconnect to create the extended family so integral to its character.
