Erik Rivera’s quick wit along with his commanding stage presence, charisma and infectious smile have made him a favorite at comedy clubs and colleges throughout the country. And now he’s taking the next step with I’m No Expert, an hour-long special on NUVOtv, premiering Saturday, November 8 at 10P.
The special is only part of Erik’s upward trajectory. Erik is already one of the most-requested comedians on both coasts; when in New York he can be found nightly at the Comedy Cellar, Comic Strip Live, Caroline’s, Gotham Comedy Club, while in Los Angeles he calls the Laugh Factory, Ice House and Hollywood Improv his comedy homes.
What’s more, Eva Longoria’s production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, recently took notice of Erik’s talent and approached him about producing a sitcom based on his comedy. LATV’s American Latino, which highlights accomplished Latinos in the community, featured him this season as they documented his rise to fame.
Erik is also a familiar face on several cable networks. He’s appeared numerous times on MTV Tr3s, Comedy Central and on NUVOtv’s Latino 101. Erik also starred in the feature filmStand Up 360along with Caroline Rhea, and he was selected to host their Latino film series, Stand Up 360 Muy Caliente! Rivera has also appeared in two independent features,My Brotherand Stand Up, and written and directed his first award-winning short film,The Cyclist, featuring fellow comedians Ross Bennett and Imagine.
Erik continues to tour colleges and universities nationwide. He was selected by NBC to represent the network’s Stand-Up for Diversity College Tour that took him from coast to coast. And now:I’m No Expert. Here’s our Q&A with him and sneak peek of the show.
