Latinos All Over Cable on Sunday: New “Dexter,” “Homeland,” “Treme”

Pay cable as become the home of some of TV’s best and most challenging dramas as well as the home to some of the best Latino acting of the year. David Zayas, Lauren Vélez, and Aimee Garcia, soon to be joined by Santiago Cabrera, are a major part of the Dexter storylines this year: check out Episode Three at 9P on Showtime. Immediately thereafter, you’ll find Morena Baccarin and Valerie Cruz on Homeland, getting weirder by the week (the show, not Morena or David—necessarily) at 10P on Showtime. And over on HBO, Jon Seda wheels and deals on Treme, along with Yul Vázquez, a detective trying to resolve a murder. Also at 10P.

Iron Chef Jose Garces in new “Iron Chef America” Sunday
We don’t talk about reality shows often…but do cooking shows count? Never mind: just know that Ecuadorian American Jose Garces, the sixth Iron Chef and the first Latino, waves a brand new battle against Chef Rebecca Weitzman. The food? If we only knew! Garces has been at this for a few years now, ever since he kicked Bobby Flay’s ass in Battle Melon. The new Iron Chef America is also on again at 1:00A and a few times next weekend.
