Latinos Will Be Living Large at SXSW This Year

The Evil Dead, Selena Gomez and multicultural tech talk are already on the agenda for March, with more to come

The good times that is SXSW (that’s pronounced “South by Southwest”) Film Festival won’t be happening until March 8-17 in Austin, TX, but the bits and pieces of the schedule being released now indicate that Latinos will be playing a bigger part than ever. On the film side: Fede Alvarez Evil Dead, starring Shiloh Fernandez (Red, Jericho) will debut there the week of March 8, and Selena Gomez highly anticipated movie Spring Breakers will be there as well. And as usual, there’s plenty happening on the music side as well, from 8 Kilmetros to Bareto and more. And most interesting of all, tech experts Kety Esquivel and Estuardo Rodriguez will be hosting a session called “Latinos y Mobile” on multicultural media right in the middle of the festivities.
