She has joined Access Hollywood as its newest full-time correspondent

Though we don’t talk about Latinos in news–even entertainment news–very much here at Se Fija!, the fact is that the field is rich with Latinos in front and behind the camera, including top-tier talent like Mario Lopez and Rocsi Diaz, who trade on their bi-cultural roots to good effect.

Now Liz Hernandez, who’s been popping up here and there on the tube, will be making a full-time leap from Power 106 FM to Access Hollywood as a full-time correspondent. She’ll also contribute to AccessHollywood.com, and work the red carpet, junkets, and the like.

Born and raised in Southern California, Hernandez served as the long-time radio co-host of the No. 1 rated and nationally syndicated morning show, “Big Boy’s Neighborhood,” on Los Angeles’ Power 106 FM. She’s done some TV work as well, including appearances on Entourage and E! News host.

Access Hollywood’s producer told The Wrap that, “Liz is smart, funny, full of energy and of course, pop culture savvy. With her strong background in radio and Access Hollywood’s emphasis on music, Liz is a perfect fit as we continue to grow in our 18th season.”

Not that it’s all about diversity. In fact, her first on-camera interview was with Miley Cyrus.

Lucky girl.
