Admit it: Mario Lopez is a nice guy. It’s a pleasure to see the one-time J.C. Slater maturing as a performer: first as a presenter on Extra and its brethren, then as a judge with one of the many, interchangeable Kardashians on X-Factor…and now as a legitimate interviewer on nuvoTV’s Mario Lopez: One on One. It was announced a few months back, but now it’s actually come to pass, starting with a half-hour visit with Gloria and Emilio Estefan. You can catch it on nuvoTV at 6P. The George Lopez interview will play at 6:30, and then the Estefan will play again at 7P.
It’s interesting and a little ironic that one Lopez is replacing another as the only regular English-language Latino interviewer in the entertainment sphere…and doubly interesting that one of Mario’s first interviews is with George.
Meanwhile, Gloria Estefan’s Latin Christmas will be playing on BBC Radio 2 on Christmas Eve, and Radio 2 is also currently repeated the Estefan’s excellent seven-part series, Gloria Estefan’s Latin Beat. And word has it that Gloria is creating yet another series for Radio 2 to premiere in the Spring of 2013.
