Maybe it’s because he started out doing such serious roles–and was really good at them–like The Shield and Eastbound & Down and The Lincoln Lawyer and Battle: Los Angeles. Maybe it’s because some of his better comic turns are, unfortunately, wrapped in movies that are far from perfect, like 30 Minutes or Less earlier this year or, currently, Tower Heist.
Whatever the reason, Michael Peña has a dry wit and a deadpan delivery that’s really pretty darn hilarious.
