Romance, Drama, Action and Just a Little Bit of Voodoo: Latinos on DVD, January 14

Four relatively obscure (or just plain financially flopulous) movies with Latinos are dropping as DVDs on Tuesday, January 14:

Jessica Alba is one of the (relatively minor) co-stars of A.C.O.D.–that’s “Adult Children of Divorce,” a bittersweet romantic comedy starring, among others, Alan Scott and Amy Poehler of Parks & Recreation and Jane Lynch of Glee.

E.J. Bonilla is part of Four, director Joshua Sanchez’ intertwining stories about modern life and relationships.

Adrienne Baillon stars in I’m in Love with a Church Girl, about a former drug-runner who’s cleaned up his act and falls for a very straight girl (Baillon). Hilarity and tragedy ensue as he tries to walk the straight and narrow. Alicia Urizar is Bailon’s sister.

Riddick the sequel to Pitch Black (and maybe the sequel to the awful Chronicles of Riddick, but no one wants to mention that particular bomb), stars Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Jordi Mollà and Raoul Trujillo in a story of survival and struggle on a very nasty planet…

A Voodoo Possession wins for the very best movie name of the week (maybe the month!). And then it just adds to its dreaminess by making Danny Trejo the star. Imagine an insatiable demon,” the log line reads, “hat feeds on blood, thrives on pain, and reaches from beyond the grave to torment the living…and the dead.” Perfect…especially if it stars Trejo as a deadly, homicidal…hospital administrator! Auuuggghh!

All for you on DVD, beginning January 14!
