Disney XD’s Pair of Kings with young Latino star Ryan Ochoa is finishing up, while Ryan himself is looking at a growing music career (and much more).
The Disney Machine has done a lot of things right—and one of them is provide a launching platform for a great many young Latino stars. One of them is Ryan Ochoa, who got his first professional acting gig at the age of 8…which means he’s now been in show biz for half his life (he’ll turn 17 this May). Now he’s finishing up a successful three-year stint as costar of Pair of Kings on Disney XD, and the future is nothin’ but bright.
Probably best remembered before Kings for his recurring role as Chuck Chamber on Nickelodeon’s iCarly, this little series about a set of fraternal twins from Chicago who discover they are the kings of an island nation, has been a modest hit for Disney–enough of a hit to give it a grand four-part send-off that began a couple of weeks ago, and ends Monday night at 8P with an hour-long send-off.

Ochoa was gracious beyond his years in a recent interview with BFTV. The show “really established who I was, and I have to thank Disney for that,” he said. “Disney, they really help you out and they really focus on all of their talent. I had a blast on the show, and I really built a strong family on set with the cast and crew.” Now he and his brothers have formed a musical group, The Ochoa Boyz, who are writing, producing, and choreographic their own pop music. They’ve already performed at Universal CityWalk and LA’s The Mint, and there’s more to come.

Ochoa’s done more in his young life as well: He was a major part of The Perfect Game, (check out an earlier post about this unknown beauty here), and he’s been deeply involved in a number of charities, including Children Mending Hearts, a national charity organization that bring arts and cultural programs to kids, and the Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s Kids Help Children initiatives.
Ryan’s far from finished with acting; we’re sure to see him on TV again soon…and this time, he told BFTV, he plans to bring his brothers along. “Me and my brothers’ number one goal is to be on a show together,” he said. “We talk about working together on a show, what it’d be like. We get along so well [and] we think it’d be really cool.”
