Two seasons is all that HBO’s giving to How To Make It In America. The pay-cable net has just cancelled the show, along with two others–Hung and Bored to Death. They still have a number of hit shows, including Game of Throne, Treme, and Boardwalk Empire, and they have high hopes for their upcoming horse racing series Luck, with John Ortiz and Dustin Hoffman, but the cancellation of How To…does have a serious impact on the number of Latino actors working for HBO.
Victor Rasuk, Luis Guzmán, and Edgar Garcia were all key players in this ensemble drama set in New York; Kid Cudi and Andrea Navedo appeared regularly as well. Rasuk’s performance was a particular standout; it garnered Best Actor nominations from the Imagen Foundation in 2010 and 2011.
