Already an actor, writer, and producer, Wilmer cuts a deal with Lionsgate and Televisa to do even more
Wilmer Valderrama’s been in front and behind the camera for years now, ever since the days of Fez and That 70’s show, but clearly he’s just getting started: he’s now entering an overall deal with Lionsgate and partner Televisa USA’s Pantelion Films and South Shore TV, where he’ll develop films to produce and star in and produce scripted and unscripted TV projects.
“Wilmer is a versatile acting and producing talent with strong crossover appeal to mainstream U.S. and Latino audiences,” Pantelion CEO and Televisa USA managing director Paul Presburger told The Hollywood Reporter. “This deal is part of our strategy of continuing to build a roster of Latino talent who will produce and star in mainstream commercial films and TV series that incorporate Latino characters and themes, and resonate with Latino audiences.”
In recent months, Lionsgate has come to similar agreement with George Lopez, Zoë Saldaña and her sisters, and most recently with Kevin James.
